37 injured in Israel bus stop attack, Gaza's Beit Lahia reels from massacre
Live Story

At least 37 people have been injured after a truck rammed into a bus stopnorth of Tel Aviv, Israeli ambulances services said on Sunday.

Eyewitnesses said that that a large number of those wounded were soldiers on their way to military bases.

At least four are in critical condition, Israeli media said. Early reports suggested that the perpetrator was a Palestinian from occupied East Jerusalem, with the Times of Israel saying he was shot and "neutralised".

The attack came as at least four Israeli reserve soldiers were killed in south Lebanon following fighting with Hezbollah operatives Saturday evening.

In northern Gaza, Israeli forces carried out another massacre late on Saturday, killing at least 40 Palestinians in Beit Lahia.

80 more were injured in the incident, as Israel continues its intensified siege and attack on northern Gaza for the 23rd day in a row.

Palestinian media said that Israeli forces bombed a densely-populated residential area, targeting at least five homes with extended families residing inside.

Hamas condemned the massacres, saying "The brutal crime carried out by the terrorist occupation army in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, by targeting a residential area that includes 5 houses crowded with dozens of citizens, and levelling them to the ground on the heads of those inside, is an embodiment of one of the ugliest images of genocide and forced displacement known to the modern era."

Tensions are high in the region, as Israel struck Iran early on Saturday, killing at least four soldiers, and cause limited damage to radar systems, according to the army.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, said officials should determine how best to demonstrate Iran's power to Israel, stressing that the attack should neither be "exaggerated nor minimised".

Meanwhile, south Lebanon's villages continue to be targeted, with several attacks reported on Sunday.
