25-year-old Israeli wounded in West Bank shooting
A 25-year-old Israeli was wounded in a shooting in the West Bank on Monday, after violence erupted in the area on Sunday, according to Israeli media.
The man is in critical condition and is being evacuated to Haddasah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Emergency services reported, according to Haaretz.
This comes after one Palestinian and two Israelis were killed in the West Bank, where over 350 Palestinians were injured after Israeli settlers stormed the town of Hawara on Sunday, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
The Israeli army is searching for the perpetrator, who they believe fled towards Jericho, where Palestinians say the military is blocking entrances to the city, according to Haaretz.
The West Bank is home to about 2.9 million Palestinians as well as an estimated 475,000 Jewish settlers, who live in settlements considered illegal under international law.
Since the start of this year, Israeli violence has claimed the lives of at least 63 Palestinians.
Eleven Israeli civilians have been killed over the same period, according to an AFP tally based on official sources from both sides.
