100,000 Palestinian Muslims gathered at Al-Aqsa for Eid Al Adha prayer

An estimated 100,000 Muslim Palestinian worshipers performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem. 

The Israeli police said it had detained 15 Palestinians "on suspicion of hanging a sign with pictures of terrorists and waving the flags of a terrorist organization, at the end of the morning prayer of the Feast of Sacrifice". 

After the morning prayer had concluded, a group of masked Palestinians proceeded to hang a Hamas flag within the compound. Additionally, a sign bearing the message "Al-Aqsa is a red line" was suspended on one of the archways. 

The Israeli police also removed four Palestinians from the Bab El Rahmeh prayer court situated within the compound. It was not immediately known what prompted the police action.

On Wednesday, Muslims around the world observed the first day of Eid al-Adha, or "the Feast of Sacrifice".  

Eid al-Adha starts on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, following the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. It lasts four days and is marked by various rituals and traditions.
