'Ramadan Tov' campaign boycotts Israeli products during holy month
As Palestinians sit down together this year to break their fasts during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, a group of local activists have warned people to make sure they are not doing so using Israeli products.
The Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions [BDS] activists have launched an awareness campaign dubbed "Ramadan Tov" - ironically using the Hebrew word for "good" - to encourage people to steer clear of Israeli goods while eating iftar.
"We are are only using this Hebrew word to provoke Palestinians and stop them from using these products," BDS activist Munther Omaira said.
BDS was founded in 2005 to nonviolently protest Israel's occupation of Palestine by boycotting Israeli products and companies.
