British women kicked off flight after racist rant against Muslim passengers

Two British women have been thrown out of a Thomas Cook plane flying from Dalaman in Turkey to London’s Gatwick Airport after shouting racist abuse at three Muslim men wearing traditional white robes.

The women called the men "terrorists", "disgusting" and a "threat" to the plane, according to other passengers.

Passengers uploaded video to YouTube showing one of the women removing her bags from overhead lockers before being taken off the plane by Turkish police.

The incident took place after midnight on Friday and delayed the plane’s take off by more than an hour. Mario van Poppel, one of the passengers abroad, called the woman a "crazy racist" in a tweet

"A passenger on our Thomas Cook flight refuses to stay on the plane because three bearded men in white prayer robes are on board," he said, adding that "kids were crying. An elderly woman behind me was reduced to tears. The Muslim men were offended but they kept their cool."

The vast majority of Turkey’s population is Muslim.

Another passenger, Shanea Kerry, said that the women had tried to get the three Muslim men removed from the flight and had called her a "fat bitch" when she confronted them on their racism.

The women also said that the other passengers were "stupid" for staying on the plane while the three men were there. Many of the passengers confronted the women over their racist behaviour.

In a statement, Thomas Cook told the British newspaper, The Mirror: "Two passengers on flight MT105 from Dalaman to London Gatwick were removed from the aircraft by police following offensive behaviour on board.

"The safety of our customers and crew is always our first priority and we do not accept this kind of behaviour on our aircraft. We are sorry to our customers for the delay this caused to their flight."
