Mo Salah's family hailed for saving Egypt hospital from closure
Salah Ghaly, the father of the Liverpool sports star, was contacted by local authorities who informed him of the hospital's problems due to lack of funds, including that it was set to lose some of its important machinery, including a vital X-ray device.
Ghaly promptly donated much needed funds to save the X-ray department from shuttering, promising to get the machinery working as quickly as possible.
Salah, who now earns a £90,000 a week salary, has not forgotten his humble beginnings in Nagrig, a Delta village that lies next to Basyoun.
