At least six Turkish soldiers were killed on Thursday in an attack that has been blamed on Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels in the southeastern region of Diyarbakir, security sources have revealed.

The attack, which struck the convoy as it was travelling through the Lice region of Diyarbakir, comes a day after a bombing blamed on Kurdish militants killed 28 people in the capital, Ankara.
