The ship container caught in the Suez Canal this week has raised concerns over blocking around $10 billion worth of global trade per day. This may not be the only piece of bad luck to emerge from the event however.

Tracking data vesselfinder.com and myshiptracking.com websites shows the ship's route had drawn "a giant penis" in the Red Sea, before getting stuck in the Suez.

A spokesperson for vesselfinder.com confirmed the ship tracking data was accurate.

"There is no room for some kind of conspiracies or false data," Mihail Mitev told VICE over email.

"Blocking the Suez Canal being a literal d**k move," wrote one Twitter user.A wide array of memes have since emerged from the jamming. On the positive side, this can add more humour to the situation.

The 400-meter (430-yard) long Ever Given ship container became wedged across part of the canal early on Tuesday, blocking one of the world's busiest shipping routes.

Egypt's Suez Canal Authority chief Osama Rabie said on Saturday that technical or human errors may have caused the blockage, rather strong winds as previously thought.

"All of these factors will become apparent in the investigation," he added.
