Brother of Yemen's Houthi leader killed by 'Saudi aggression': rebels
The Houthi movement’s self-proclaimed Interior Ministry said that Ibrahim Badreddin al-Houthi was killed by "treacherous hands affiliated with the US-Saudi-Israeli aggression" adding that "it would spare no effort to find" Ibrahim’s killers.
No further details were given.
Ibrahim al-Houthi is the brother of the movement’s leader, Abdel Malek al-Houthi.
In September 2014, the Iran-backed Houthi rebels orchestrated a coup against internationally recognised President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, taking over Sana'a.
In March 2015, a coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE intervened in Yemen against the Houthis. Tens of thousands of Yemeni civilians have been killed in the resulting war.
Also on Friday, Saudi Arabia announced that it had shot down a Houthi drone over southern Saudi Arabia.
