A man has been arrested by French police after a suspected car ramming incident at Lyon Airport followed by a high-speed chase.
Police confronted a white Mercedes seen speeding down the wrong side of the road before smashing into a security barrier at Lyon-Bron business airport.
It then headed for Lyon's main Saint-Exupery airport, when it slammed into the Terminal 1 entrance and onto the tarmac, pursued by police, an AFP journalist who witnessed the scene said.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, but Lyon Airport - France's third busiest - was closed.
The suspect was arrested by police, but a motive has not been given for the incident.
France has witnessed a number of terror attacks by Islamic State group and al-Qaeda linked militants in recent year, including a truck ramming in Nice two-years-ago, leaving 86 people dead.
