Gunman kills Israeli motorist, wounds 3 in West Bank
The Israeli military has said an Israeli was killed and three others wounded after a suspected Palestinian assailant opened fire at their car in the occupied West Bank.
The military said on Friday that the gunman fired at a "family car" close to the village of al-Fawar south-west of Hebron.
"A terrorist opened fire on a family driving on route 60… as a result, the vehicle crashed, killing one passenger and wounding three more," the military tweeted.
It added the wounded were taken to hospital and that troops were searching for the gunman who fled the scene.
Hours earlier, Israeli police killed a Palestinian woman after she allegedly attempted to stab a soldier in Hebron.
Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that the would-be stabber was killed near the Ibrahimi mosque, a site revered by both Jews and Muslims.
Friday morning also saw 63-year-old Mohammed Mustafa Habash die of suffocation after Israeli forces fired tear gas in the West Bank village of Qalandia.

These incidents come a day after Palestinian Mohammad Nassir Taryra was shot dead by Israeli soldiers after he entered the settlement of Kiryat Arba outside Hebron and stabbed a 13-year-old girl to death as she slept in her bedroom.
Thursday also saw another similar incident in Netanya, where two Israelis were stabbed.
Violence since October 2015 has killed at least 214 Palestinians and 34 Israelis. Israeli forces have been accused of using excessive force in some cases.
Most of the Palestinians were allegedly carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, according to Israeli authorities.
Others were killed in clashes with security forces or by Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip.
