Palestinian shot dead for allegedly ramming car into Israelis

Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian after he drove a car into Israelis at a Jerusalem bus stop on Monday injuring eight people, according to the Israeli police.

The Israeli police said a 21-year-old Palestinian from east Jerusalem had died, while Israel's medical services said none of the victims' injuries were life-threatening, according to AFP.

The Israeli police claimed that the alleged attacker Abd al-Mohsen Hassouna from Beit Hanina in northern east Jerusalem had an "axe" in his car, according to Palestinian media reports.

Since the beginning of October, almost daily attacks by Palestinians and clashes with Israeli soldiers have killed 117 on the Palestinian side, 17 Israelis, an American and an Eritrean.

On Sunday, a 16-year-old Palestinian girl was shot after allegedly trying to carry out a stabbing attack near the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba in the occupied West Bank.

Al-Aqsa and Joseph's Tomb stormed

A group of Jewish settlers stormed on Monday morning al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem and an area where the Joseph's Tomb site is located, near Nablus in the West Bank.

Q-Press, a media centre dedicated for Jerusalem and al-Aqsa news reported that "a group of settlers guarded by occupation forces stormed al-Aqsa Mosque," and worshippers "responded by shouting 'Allahu Akbar' (God is great)."

Settlers also stormed the Joseph's Tomb area east of Nablus under the protection of Israeli forces to pray and remained there for nearly three hours.

Sources told al-Araby al-Jadeed that as the settlers stormed the Joseph's Tomb area, clashes broke between Palestinians and Israeli forces there. Israeli soldiers fired stun grenades and warning shots at the Palestinians but medical sources did not report any casualties.
